New York Day 2 (part 2!)

After we left the cathedral we started heading to find some lunch. We decided to go to Juniors, which is famous for their amazing cheesecake! On the way we had to stop and take a few pictures of the sites...
Naked Cowboy! I ended up seeing about 7 "Naked Cowboys" (And 2 "Naked Cowgirls") but this guy was the real one!

The Lion King! We ended up seeing it later that night.

We made it to Juniors and even though we were all starving, a lot of us shared. Which was a good thing, because the servings were huge!

Maybe this looks just like a regular bacon hamburger…but it was giant! I shared it with my mom. And the onion rings, oh the onion rings. They're huge, and doughy, and not crispy, and so, so good. It's probably hit or miss, because a lot of people have to have them crispy, but they're amazing. Oh so good.

Before we got our food they brought out this huge bowl of pickles right in front of me. I hate pickles, but Chloe LOVES them so I had to take a picture to send to them. Cody said when he showed her, her eyes got huge and she said, "I want to eat ALL THE PICKLES!"
(We talk about pickles at least once a day at our house. Preslie and I are the "pickle haters" and Cody and Chloe and Charlee are the "pickle monsters" because they love them..)

They also brought out pickled beets. I sent Cody a picture of this, too, and he asked if they were good. I told him someone else tried and they said they were, but he told me I had to try...

I decided I liked them. But only enough for one bite. They weren't bad, though!

Then came the desserts...
We ordered two for everyone to share. This is the Devil's Food Cheesecake

And the Strawberry Shortcake Cheesecake. Both were amazing and we would take a bite or two and pass the plate along, until...

This was all frosting. We would've eaten it, but we were all so stuffed by then.

After Juniors, we dragged our tired feet back out on the streets and headed to Soho.
I was super nervous to ride the subway at first, because my knowledge of the subway consists of Adventure's in Babysitting (knife in the foot anyone?), and Full House and Boy Meets World (Both get stuck in the subway on very, very important days.)

Luckily, the subway for us was awesome. (Except Even when Amy and I saw a giant rat!)

I took this when no one was around…So people couldn't laugh at my tourist-ness

First we stopped at the cutest store, Purl Soho

It was gorgeous. I honestly felt like I could've stayed there all day looking at all the gorgeous fabric, material, and colors.

Isn't this the cutest little dog?

Ahh beautiful. I bought some fabric there and a pattern and was so excited about them!
After we left Purl, we went to Kate Spade. Again, I was in heaven :)
I was so in love with this dress. And the shoes (not pictured). They were both amazing. The dress was only $548 and the shoes $348. NBD. …Too bad I can't even handle buying a $20 wallet from China town without stress. Sadly, I left there empty-handed.

Afterwards we hit up China town and little Italy but only for just a second. It was way too hard to walk around China town with 6 of us because all the shops and the sidewalks are so small. So we went to the Cannoli King and grabbed my second cannoli for my second day. It was ammmmazing. Better than the first.

Yum don't you just want to take a bite? (I didn't eat it at the place but took it back to the hotel for later. I was still stuffed from cheesecake!)

We got back on the subway and got off near a little Swedish candy store called Sockerbit. It was cute! I thought it was funny they had two Asians working the store, because it's a swedish store :) We filled up our bags and I took pictures of the candy I got so I could remember what it was called and what it was supposed to taste like before giving it to my kids.

By this time, we were all pretty wiped out and couldn't stop saying, "I'm so excited to just sit all night!" We went back to the hotel, changed, and hurried over to see our shows on broadway! Amy, Mom, and Katie saw A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (and loved it) and Brooke, April and I saw The Lion King. It was fun!

To be honest, I didn't love it. It was good, but for some reason I was being extra critique-y, and kept thinking, "I could've saved a ton of money and watched the movie." But, it's a classic Broadway hit, so I'm glad I can add it to my "Have-Seen" list. Maybe I didn't love it because the only other Broadway show I've seen is Wicked…it's hard to go next after that!

It was fun to spend time with April and Brooke, though! After the show we just went back to the hotel because we were all pretty exhausted after such a long, fun day.

But before we got back to the hotel, we saw Zach Braff on the street! He was coming out of another Broadway show and there were people everywhere trying to get his autograph. You can just barely tell it's him from these pics - we were across the street and didn't cross because he was so surrounded by people it wouldn't have been worth it. Plus non of us really care about him :)

Wow after reading back through this post and the last, I feel exhausted! But that day, I was so pumped full of energy and the city I loved every second!! Day 3 is on it's way!
