Chloe's Trip to the Doctor

Today was Chloe's 2 month Dr appointment-which means one thing. Shots. I've been worrying about it for a couple weeks now. It was never too big of a worry-just always in the back of my mind. Cody came with me because I was so nervous about how she'd react...and how I'd react. They weighed and measured her-10 lb 6 oz and almost 23 in long!!!!! Holy big baby! Then the dr came in for a minute to talk to us and gave us some papers about the shots and then the nurse came back to give them. First she gave her an oral medicine and then she gave one shot in one leg and then 2 in the other. She did the two shots at the same time so it apparently wasn't as bad...yeah right. It only made it worse that she was SO tired and had fallen asleep while I had been holding her. As soon as she got her first shot she started SCREAMING and crying and then I lost it too! I covered my face with the papers from the Dr and didn't look until the nurse said she was finished. Cody got up with her when she was still getting her shots to comfort her and as soon as the nurse backed up I was up there to pick her up. She was SO sad and had SO many tears. It was awful. About two seconds later my mom called and I answered the phone totally bawling. Luckily she's such a great baby and fell asleep as soon as she was in her carseat. She slept for about two more hours when we brought her home and then I fed her and she was so happy! First she spit up a TON (even more than normal!!!) but after that she was all smiles! But look at her poor, little legs. So sad!

I was totally freaking when you answered the phone crying...I wondered what had happened...then I thought you were just being sympathetic, and didn't think you were really truly crying. Now I know that you really were!!! :) It is so hard when they give babies those shots! How awesome it is that Cody is there to go with you! Dad never came with me to the Dr., except when you were in the hospital when you were 2 months old - he stayed with you the whole time - never leaving your side - so that no one would take his little baby girl! You were supposed to get your shots that day, but you had a fever and they couldn't figure out why, so they admitted you to the hospital. Because we had so many other kids, I had to go home to care for them, so Dad stayed with you!

The pictures of Chloe are so darling! I love to see her smiles. She has changed SO much since I was there. Holy big baby! So cute!

That's so sad! She's so cute! I'm glad she pulled through okay, and you too! :)

My friend just had a baby and he was 10 lbs 6 oz at birth! So there you go haha!!

Great, you guys are making me cry now. Glad you made it through all that ok.
Hate to break it to you, but it only gets worse as she gets older. And if she's as bad as Ryan, then when she has to go to kinder and has to get shots for that then she will be able to recognize the parking lot of the dr's office and refuse to get out of the car. But when you finally do get her out of the car she runs like crazy around the whole building until you call your hubby in tears and tell him to get down there now. I hope that doesn't happen to you. I think your little cutie will be much more well behaved than that.
Her pictures are almost adorable as her smiles.
I love her already.

I hate when they get shots too. And to me it gets worse when they are older (because they remember and they start crying when the see the nurse/doctor even if it's not for them). And she is so cute, she looks like a Walk to me.

I am so not looking forward to that when we have kids! I will have to make Seth come along with me too. She has seriously gotten so big since Thanksgiving! She is just too cute in all those pics. Sorry we missed you on Sunday. We will have to see you next time you come to Utah.
