Finally Back

I think I've made everyone wait long enough...And I really want to show off more pictures of Chloe, so I'm back to blogging!

Really it's been so crazy these past few weeks I haven't even wanted to blog. The first week after Chloe was born Cody and I were on our own. My mom came a week after she was born, but for the first while we figured it all out ourselves. It was so crazy and hectic! Honestly, I can't even remember most of it. It's mostly a blur. Our ward split two days after she was born, so we didn't know who our bishop was or the RS president to let them know. We got a meal from our friends, Jon and Alicia and our upstairs neighbors. It was so nice of them! For the rest of the week we ate hot pockets and frozen tv dinners. We had problems with nursing at first, so we had to use a SNS - which meant Cody had to get up with me and help me feed her at night. Luckily he took two weeks off of work so we could sleep during the day...I don't think we did much of that, though. (I told you I can't really remember!) I do remember sleeping on the couch with Chloe, though. She would sleep in her bouncer that Erin gave us (OH my GOSH, Erin, it seriously has saved our lives. THANK YOU!) and one of us would sleep on the couch. I was always worried about her in her crib that every sound she made I would get up and check on her. So the couch was the best option if I wanted to sleep at all.

My mom and Amy came up and helped SO much. Amy just stayed for the weekend and my mom stayed from Saturday until Thursday afternoon. It was so nice to have them here. My mom cleaned and made meals EVERY day. And she went and bought us a ton of stuff!! She came home one day with two lamps, a baby moniter, and TONS and TONS of food. She really helped me figure out nursing a ton and it's going so much better now! She also slept on the couch, so Chloe had to sleep in her crib and I'm SO glad. She sleeps there every night now and I forgot how much I love sleeping in my bed! And our new RS president heard we had a baby, so she set up meals for us for like 4 days! It was so nice of them. I really appreciate everything that everyone has been doing to help us - we've had a LOT of help lately and I can't say thank you enough!!!

It sure has been hard, but so worth it. Chloe is so awesome and we love her to death!!! She's the sweetest, cutest baby and I could just hold her and look at her all day! I sometimes wish she was old enough to be laughing and playing with us, but I love her being so little and letting me hold her and cuddle with her anytime I want.

I've decided to just post this without all the other pics I was going to add! I'll try to add them later.

What a precious baby. I'm so glad to hear that things are going well with the little one at home.

And don't wish to hard for running and playing because she won't lay perfectly still in the same spot for long - and then you will wish that she was still unable to roll, crawl, walk, and run. Sometimes I still wish my boy was little enough to just lay in my arms. As an 8 year old I can hardly get him to hold still long enough for me to hug him.

Congratulations!

Those first few days and weeks can be so tough... and getting the hang of nursing. I'm so glad you had family come to help!

I can tell you this... it will get easier. I promise. :-) Those first few smiles are priceless and make all the difficulties of the first few weeks just melt away.
