Our Prophet

So it's been 4 days since our Prophet and President, Gordon B. Hinckley, passed away. I think we've all been able to get more used to the idea and I found a couple things on my Aunt Patti's blog that I wanted to share on here. Actually I will just share the website. The poem is really nice, too, but I don't want to steal her whole blog!! http://photo.byu.edu/video.php?cat1=Slide%20Shows&cat2=General&cat3=2008&cat4=Hinckley%20Tribute

And...I don't know how to add links so I just put it on like that. Hope it works! It's so awesome. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll try to figure out how to fix it. It's pictures with splices of different talks he's given and the last splice his voice changes and you can just hear how much he loves us! I always start crying during that part! I'm so sad that my kids won't ever know him or hear his voice (except on tape) or see him doing all his cute little manerisms. But I'm so glad he's with his sweet wife! He's been waiting for that for such a long time and he really deserves to be with her again.

"Before I married her, she had been the girl of my dreams, to use the words of a song then popular. She was my dear companion for more than two-thirds of a century, my equal before the Lord, really my superior. And now in my old age, she has again become the girl of my dreams."

Aw, I'm crying again. I'm so happy that she's not the literal girl of his dreams anymore. He's just so wonderful. I read this the other day in the school newspaper and totally started crying in my biology class! I bet she was just standing there waiting for him and he was running up to her. I am so happy for them. And for all of heaven! They're so lucky to have such a great man there.

Good job Stacey - that's such a nice blog. I love that quote about her being the girl of his dreams. Makes me cry too. Love you! PS -- I'm going to the funeral with ELJ and her counselors!!! I'm so excited!

I think your kids will know him because they can spend time with him now before they come to you. They'll just forget him for a little bit while they're here. But we won't forget. We will never forget. And when we see a picture of him, we'll remember to do better and be better and be more kind to everyone because that's what he would want from us.

That was a really sweet blog Stacey. Love that quote. I hope that my marriage can be just as sweet and wonderful as theirs for eternity.

So I noticed you commented on Milner's blog and so I looked you guys up - funny who you find has blogs. Ok - so LOL, I loved your Miss America post. Fellow pageant girl here, gotta love those days. My mom actually went to the pageant since she is on the Miss Idaho Falls board and that is where Miss Idaho was from. She was REEEEEALLLY disappointed being there. I was too. Why was EVERY judge that night a celebrity judge? And Michigan's talent...hello? I also really liked Indiana and was rooting for her in the end. As for the reality series - I only watched the last episode and thought that was retarded too. Why did they only showcase like 5 of the girls? Marshall kept asking me why they were only interviewing Miss Washington. Anyways - I feel you on this one. Glad to know someone else is appalled! Here's our blog if you want to link it: http://snedfam.blogspot.com

Thanks for posting to my blog! I linked to yours through Tiffany's. I was just scrolling down and checking out some of your pictures. I got to the one of Cody making dough. It made me stop because he looks like he's in my kitchen! Don't you just love apartment life? Everyone has the same house you do!

Oh, and the spider story totally creeped me out. Yuck. I am such an arachnophobe.
