Any Ideas?

I want to start doing "preschool" with Chloe and Preslie....I know Preslie won't be able to really do anything for awhile, but of course we can include her! I want to do an alphabet theme, you know a different letter for each day? Chloe loves singing her ABC's and I think she'd love doing it this way. Has anyone else done this before? Do you have any tips or are there any websites you found ideas on different things to do each day? The only things I can think of doing for today are: Apples, alligator......so I guess we'll be eating apples and drawing pictures of alligators...but there has to be more!

Thanks for your help!

try everythingpreschool.com It has songs/crafts/games/coloring pages/activities/books for every letter. I was in a co-op preschool with Nora and the kids ranged from 18 months - 30 months, and this site worked great for us. Good luck!

we made homemade flash cards out of construction paper with flaps to lift up and put corresponding pictures with it. Wyatt's really into trains so a lot of the pictures were the different trains (T was Thomas, G was Gordon etc..) Kailyn we made more girl friendly with animals and princesses. (C for Cinderella , E is for Elephant) They really enjoyed making them and lifting them up to see the pictures. We also do a letter day where we try to make, eat and learn about something with that letter. (Like A day we ate apples, we planted an apricot pit and we learned about Astronauts. ) and we also do starfall.com (they can pick a letter and it does the sound and has different pictures for it. more for a visual aid for the letter)

Amy starts with A! You can learn all about Wonderful Aunt Amy and how smart she is and how pretty and how nice and how funny... :) And how you're coming to stay with me... :)

I just looked at www.everythingpreschool.com and it is so cool. Plus it has your whole idea of an alphabet letter everyday and what stuff goes with that letter including songs, finger plays, letters to color, recipes, science ideas, and you definitely have to talk about Chloe's Aunt Amy and Aunt April and cousin Aidan for the letter A!!! So fun - great idea Susie!

Hey Stacey! I may just have to copy you and do this too. I've been trying to think of what I can do every day with Avie because I feel like I've kinda let the learning and activities slip since I've had Jackson and need to get my rear in gear again. :) I just looked at that Everything Preschool Web site. It looks great and has tons of ideas! Here's a few other links w/ ideas I've liked in the past.

http://www.starfall.com/
http://preschoolexpress.com/ (This one has a toddler or preschooler calendar w/ a different activity to help w/ some skill for every day. I love it!)
http://first-school.ws/

I like the idea of the calendar or lesson plans. It'd be great to just sit down Sunday evening or something after the kids are down and plan out a week worth of activities/lessons. Then I think it'd be a lot easier to actually stick w/ it for the week because you wouldn't have to wonder what to do that day of.

Anyway, this is now a novel. :) But I am really excited about this too because I know it's something I definitely need to do w/ Avie! Thanks for the motivation!

She does a lot of letter of the day activities. Her son is a bit older than either of your girls, but if you look at older archives you might find some more appropriate ideas.
