Scaredy-Cat

Cody and I watch a lot of cop shows. Cops, Most Daring, etc. I remember watching them with my dad a lot growing up, and I've just always liked seeing the police get the bad guys and taking them away.

Lately, however, they started to scare me. A lot.

Ok, not all the time...But ever since I had Chloe and there will be something about some guy on trial for killing a little kid, it totally freaks me out.

So last night, after watching some one of these shows, I was pretty scared. Cody was already in our room (I thought), leaving me to turn off the tv and the light. I turned the tv off (because there was a really scary commercial on that was scaring me even more) but left the light on because I didn't want to be by myself in the dark. Seriously, when did I become such a wuss?

I was walking to our room, getting ready for Cody to make fun of me for being scared of the dark, when I passed the bathroom and Cody JUMPED out at me and scared me TO DEATH. I immediately screamed, covered my face, and started BAWLING. I've never been so scared I've started crying, let alone bawling for at least 5 minutes. He felt so, so bad and kept hugging me and saying, I'm sorry! I'm sorry!

After my 5-minute bawling spree the only thing I could say was, "That was a scary one..."

I think I might cut back on the cop shows.

That's happened to me! I have this irrational fear of someone (a bad guy) getting me while I'm in the shower (that's why we have a clear shower curtain now!) One morning I was taking a shower and Steve snuck in and got in the shower really quiet, so when I turned around he was suddenly there. It scared me sooooo bad and I cried and cried! I know exactly how you feel. I think it gets better as your kids get a little older because you have to be strong and pretend to not be afraid so often that it starts to go away a little.... but I still need a clear shower curtain! :)

Did Chloe wake up? That's pretty doggone scared!! You'd better stop watching tv altogether. Study your scriptures instead!! :)

ME TOO! Although Clint has cut back because when he startles me really bad I start swinging and punching! I don't mean to it just happens. Clint tries not to startle me by saying "Shay I am coming, etc." It makes me laugh! :) I agree about the cop shows though.

I'm such a wuss! I hate when Matt has to leave town because I have to sleep with the tv on all night so I don't hear all the little sounds my house makes. But now that I have Braden it's so much worse. I don't lock my door to my room in case I need to make a mad dash to his room. I even told Matt he was NEVER allowed to surprise me by coming home early because I would hurt him... :)

Yeah, that's why I stay away from scary stuff. I'm all about the things that bring light and happy thoughts into my life.
