Date Night and Photo Shoot

This past Saturday Cody and I had a BLAST together. He spent the morning and part of the afternoon doing homework and then let me and two other girls interview him for our psychology class. It was really fun! I thought so at least...I don't think he really wanted to do it..But he was a good sport! Afterwards I decided that we need to have a date night every week. We're always together on Saturdays but we never have called it "Date Night" or said we're going on a date...So I said we need to start calling it date night and take turns planning it. I said I would plan for that night and we had our first offical date night! It was so fun. I decided to break out our Starving Student card and go get all the free stuff! We got free cookie dough from Papa Murphy's, free cake from Gandolfo's, free chocolate from...some chocolate place, and free custard from a custard place! It was awesome! We could've gotten free lemonade, soda, and a lot of free fries, but by the end of that we were pretty stuffed. Then we decided to go see Iron Man at the cheap theater. (Yeah for cheap date nights!) Oh my gosh, it's so good! We loved it. I thought in the beginning it was taking kinda awhile to get to the point of the movie, but we both really enjoyed it. It was so funny because everytime there were war scenes or people shooting guns (which was a LOT at the beginning) the baby would kick like CRAZY. She didn't mind the loud music at all, but she wouldn't stop moving during the guns. I think it scared her! Either that or she just loves guns :) Her Papa Springer would be so proud!! :)

After the movie we RAN home and grabbed the camera. We had like 30 minutes of good light left and Cody wanted to take pictures at the temple. We raced up to the temple and I walked around the grounds for awhile while he took pictures. Then he told me to come and model for him. These are a few of the results.

(So this picture looks really freaky...I decided to practice for America's Next Top Model and I was working my Fierce-Tyra-Bank's-Eyes. I think I could win with that look :) )

And then I said...Take funny pictures of me because I'm funny! ...More like super lame, but hey. I'm ok with that.

So pretty! I love the temple!!

Disney Princess

So I copied like 3 other people...But I just wanted to know!

You Are Mulan!

Strong and spirited. You're no one's girly girl; actually you are very determined person with a strong sense of self. Never let go of that! The only thing that equals your sense of self is your family, but the traditions of society can always be bent to protect something or someone you love.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

Cinderella is my favorite...But I love Mulan too. And when the movie came out I thought Shang was pretty cute, so I guess I'm ok with it!!

Our Week

Last week was really busy and really stressful and hectic, so that's why I didn't blog at all. Sorry!

However, last weekend was really, really fun and even though I didn't take any pictures, I wanted to tell everyone that we went to the Rexburg Air Show AND the zoo!!! It was so fun and we had a great day. I got totally fried at the air show and now have a fabulous farmers tan.

Cody was smart and used sunscreen, so he was fine. I'm not really sure how to make the rest of my arms and chest match my tan...But maybe I'll be able to figure out something.

Father's Day was also really fun. I had ordered Cody a Nikon d60 (with the help of April and Noah...I know NOTHING about cameras) the Monday before, thinking it would get here Friday or Saturday....Nope. So on Sunday night I printed off a picture of it and wrapped that. He was really confused at first because he didn't think that's what I had gotten him, but when I explained it was for real he was excited. He had been talking a lot about the Nikon d40, but April said the d60 was like 2 steps up from the d40, and not that much more expensive, so I decided to go with that one. But since he didn't know anything about the d60 he spent the next hour or so researching it online. He's still not totally positive if he wants this one or wants the d40, but yesterday we were out taking pictures and I think he likes it a lot!! (And he's already taught me how to use it, so that's a plus)

So, for your viewing pleasure, here are some of the pictures we've (really just him) taken with it so far. What a fun new camera!!

Sidenote

I just wanted to add to that last post that I have nothing against epidurals or people that use them. I have heard horror stories from both natural birth and people that use epidurals and just want to know my options. I don't really know anything for REAL about either way, and I am not so "pro natural" that if it hurts too much, I'll probably get an epidural. I just want to see if I can do it and what it's like without. But if I do end up getting an epidural I won't be disappointed in myself. I just thought if I had more resources to help with the natural part I'd be able to at least hold out longer!

The Big, Scary "B"... Birth.

So I've been thinking a lot lately about actually having a person come out of me and it's kinda freaking me out. I would really like to have a natural childbirth but don't really know anything about anything. We told our Dr that that's what we wanted and she kinda laughed and said, "The epidural rate at this hospital is 95%." I wanted to be like, Ok, great. Thanks for your support, I'll find someone else who won't laugh at me. But...I didn't.

Anyway, at our last appointment a different doctor was telling us about childbirth classes and things offered like that at the hospital. Does anyone know about birthing classes that are for natural childbirth? And any other tips or books that would be good, or any ideas at all? I'd really appreciate it!! :)

And the answer is...

GIRL! We're having a baby girl!! The majority was so, so right. We have a ton of pictures of her and are just so excited. They also gave us a DVD of the whole ultrasound, so if anyone ever wants to watch it you can; you can see her kicking and moving all around! I was so sure it was going to be a boy that when the lady doing the ultrasound started naming girl parts I was like...Wait...Boys don't have those things! They said they're 80% sure it's a girl (and we're pretty positive...we think they can only say 80% just for liability and stuff...Cause they could always be wrong) and she looks super healthy! She's 10 oz, about 8 inches and is in the 44th percentile for her "age." We are so excited and can't wait to meet our little girl! When we were watching her she had her hand up on her forehead and I told Cody he's going to have to deal with a new little drama queen! We also think she was sucking her thumb for awhile. So cute!!

After the ultrasound we went and checked out the hospital we're going to deliver at. It's really nice and we like it a lot. The delivery rooms are big and they have a ton of space and they're all private with HUGE bathtubs! Which is exciting for me! AND they have flavors for your ice chips! So I can have rootbeer flavored ice chips!!! I was like-Ok, I'm coming here FOR SURE!

So we have a lot of pictures and I don't know if everyone wants to see all of them..So I'll just put up a few! (Which really means like half of them)

Ok, so it really means non of them because they took WAY too long! I don't know why they sometimes do that...It's really weird.
Anyway. I'll try to figure it out and add some more later!

Our Weekend

We didn't do too much this weekend but we did take a couple pictures, so I just wanted to put them up.

On Saturday night we hung out with Jon and Alicia. Jon and Cody had a great time playing XBox and Alicia and I had a great time making and eating chocolate covered strawberries!!! They had just bought strawberries and we had chocolate, so we made them and they tasted AMAZING. They're totally my favorite fruit. :)

On Sunday Cody and I made eggrolls for dinner that turned out really, really good. We didn't take any pictures of them, but it was fun to make them together! When we were blessing the food we made sure to be grateful that no one was seriously injured, because it's dangerous making those things!

And here is a belly pic because I love seeing pregnant pictures and I'm sure some of you do too. Sorry I'm looking awful; I had been sleeping for about 3 hours by this time and had just gotten ready for bed (hence the glasses)...But oh well. We'll take some better ones later. (It's me at 19 weeks by the way..)

And that shirt is my friend, Michelle's. She gave me a bunch of maternity clothes to borrow cause she just had a baby in February. So nice, eh?!
