So it's been 4 days since our Prophet and President, Gordon B. Hinckley, passed away. I think we've all been able to get more used to the idea and I found a couple things on my Aunt Patti's blog that I wanted to share on here. Actually I will just share the website. The poem is really nice, too, but I don't want to steal her whole blog!! http://photo.byu.edu/video.php?cat1=Slide%20Shows&cat2=General&cat3=2008&cat4=Hinckley%20Tribute
And...I don't know how to add links so I just put it on like that. Hope it works! It's so awesome. If it doesn't, let me know and I'll try to figure out how to fix it. It's pictures with splices of different talks he's given and the last splice his voice changes and you can just hear how much he loves us! I always start crying during that part! I'm so sad that my kids won't ever know him or hear his voice (except on tape) or see him doing all his cute little manerisms. But I'm so glad he's with his sweet wife! He's been waiting for that for such a long time and he really deserves to be with her again.
"Before I married her, she had been the girl of my dreams, to use the words of a song then popular. She was my dear companion for more than two-thirds of a century, my equal before the Lord, really my superior. And now in my old age, she has again become the girl of my dreams."
Aw, I'm crying again. I'm so happy that she's not the literal girl of his dreams anymore. He's just so wonderful. I read this the other day in the school newspaper and totally started crying in my biology class! I bet she was just standing there waiting for him and he was running up to her. I am so happy for them. And for all of heaven! They're so lucky to have such a great man there.

P.S.
I JUST found out. The new Miss America CAN"T RIDE A BIKE...
AND
She has a fake tooth. I KNOW. A FAKE DANG TOOTH. Miss America CAN"T have a fake tooth! She is supposed to have ALL HER OWN, REAL teeth!
I'm still pretty upset... I need to find some oreos and calm down.

MONDOLY Lame
So maybe I'm too worked up about this, but I'm SO upset about the new Miss America. I just spent 2 hours of my life, not to mention countless hours watching the show, Miss America Reality Check, and it has seriously disappointed me. I watched Miss America Reality Check to get to know the girls of Miss America. To find out who they really are and what they are about. Being a pageant girl myself (ha) I feel it's important to know who the girls are instead of JUST basing them on their looks. (If I hadn't watched the show I might've wanted Miss Utah to win, and we all know that would've been a big mistake.) So I watched it. Faithfully. Religiously. Who did they NEVER feature on the show? The new dang Miss America. Who did I want to win? Who was I SO SURE would win?!?! Miss Indiana. So pretty. So wonderful. In the top 3 almost ALL the time! But no. She was the runner-up. Who did I think WOULD be the runner-up?! Miss Virgina. Was she?! NO! She was 5th. WHO did win?!?! (SPOILER ALERT!!!) Miss Michigan. LAME. When the 4 finalists were standing together, holding hands, I was like, Ok, since both Virgina and Indiana are gone it'll either be Wisconsin (her dress was my FAVORITE!!!) or California. SOOOO pretty. I was like, FOR SURE Michigan won't win because she's the not cutest one.. (Ok, I really said she's the ugliest.) But she looks like a chipmunk! Oh, I'm so upset. Really, truly upset.
America has disappointed me.
America has disappointed me.

Our January
I can't believe January is almost over! It's gone by so so so fast. I hope the rest of the semester goes by just as fast! Hopefully I'll soon be saying, "the snow is gone!" Oh man, that'd make me so happy. I actually think I'd be just as happy if they would put ice on the roads...There is probably 3 inches of pure ice on the roads, EVERYWHERE, and for some reason Rexburg doesn't believe in putting salt on the roads. Usually they put gravel down, but they haven't even done that yet...Its frustrating and making me daydream more and more about living somewhere warm... (I found my DREAM house in Arizona. It's BEAUTIFUL. It has 8 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, a huge pool and is 18,000 square feet. It's only 12.5 million....Maybe when we're done with school we can check it out) HA
It was Cody's birthday a couple weeks ago and we had a party for him! It was really fun. Our friends came over and we played x-box (a lot) and a Friends Scene It game (which is so so so fun!) and ate lots of good food.
This is when I realized I hadn't taken pictures at all this whole time!!! So basically all the pictures we do have are of people eating... Sorry. We didn't get any pictures of our friends, the Marshalls, and they're cute daughter, Belle, cause they had to leave before we ate cheesecake. But here is everyone else.
This is Jon and Alicia. Jon was Cody's companion on his mission! How exciting.
and Susan and Nick. She's 6 months pregnant, and you CAN'T TELL AT ALL!!! It's pretty crazy. They're having a little boy.
Cody's friend from work, Ryan. His wife stayed home with their kids, but Ryan brought the Friends game! It was so fun!
He really liked the cheesecake...
Everyone was so into the xbox!
This past weekend my friends, Polly and Jill, surprised me by coming to visit!!!! I actually knew they were coming, but they lied about the time they'd be here. So instead of having my house spic'n'span and looking cute, I was taking a break from cleaning and had my pj's on! We still had a blast though! On Saturday we went shopping, went to lunch and met up with Lindsay and her TOO CUTE baby, Tyler, and saw 27 Dresses with Izzy from Grey's Anatomy! I was so so so excited and it was so so so cute! I loved it! We also got to go through the Rexburg Temple Open House. When we got there the line was SO long it wrapped around the stake center and instead of watching a movie talking about the temple we just went straight in. We also didn't really get to hang out at any of the places the tour guides explain, like the baptisimal font. But in the sealing room we got to sit down and the tour guides talked and it was really nice. We are so excited for the temple to open and have it be only 2 seconds away!!

I got this cute shirt and jeans (with ginormous belt) at Maurices for less than $20 for the whole thing!!! I think it was like $17.50. So exciting!

Yeah!! We all had so much fun! NAT GEO FOREVER! :)

Because...
I love him.

And yesterday was his birthday.
I feel really bad I didn't get to do this yesterday, but between the ZERO time and the panic attack/meltdown I had at the end of the night...I didn't get around to it.
This is my husband, Cody John Walk.
Isn't he so dang cute?
It was his happy birthday yesterday. He turned 25! He's a quarter of a century old..Holy cow! I feel like we've known each other forever, even though it's only been 3 years.
Here are some reasons why I love Cody sooo so so so so much. Some of them are from a journal I kept while we were engaged and each night I wrote one reason why I loved him. It was so fun thinking about it and I told him the reasons I had written down later and I think he was happy to hear it. I want to keep doing it, but I don't write in my journal very often anymore.
*He always plays games with me--the silly ones like rhinoceros and spiderman
*The way he laughs when he thinks something I do or say is really funny (it's so cute)
*How safe he makes me feel
*When he does things with me that he doesn't want to do..and doesn't complain
*I love love love love LOVE his smile
*I love that he loves me and wants me to be happy
*He wears the pants in our relationship
*He wants to have as many babies as I do!

*He talks to me about everything
*He always compliments me; he wants me to succeed
*He worries about me
*He's so handy! He can fix anything and doesn't care how dirty he'll get!
*He's always teaching me something new
*He's so dang fun! He plays around with me and lets me braid his hair! :)
*He never, ever yells...except when we're fake fighting
*He can grow a really fun mustache
*He never makes me feel stupid
*He's quite the photographer

*He likes how girly I am...Even though I don't like to admit I'm girly
*He makes the BEST pizza

*I love how he drives
*He has a really strong testimony and loved his mission (he talked about it all the time when we first started dating...That's when I knew I was really attracted to him!)
*He smells so dang good!
*He's always, always there for me. Through the good things, through the horrible things, he's there
*He's starting to love the Harry Potter books!!!
*He loves being daring and adventurous; he's always up for anything

*He doesn't settle for anything less than the best
*He's a really, really hard worker and is super dedicated
*He always listens to me complain and never complains back
*He helps me be a better person
He's my favorite. I'm sorry if this is too mushy-love stuff for everyone...but I just wanted to say Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband!!! I love you!

The Yuckiest Thing Ever
About a week and a half before Christmas, Cody and I went to buy our Christmas tree. Like last year, we bought a real tree (only my 2nd real tree of my whole life!) I picked it out. It was beautiful and full and had a really, really long thing on the top that was just quirky enough to put our pretty, new silver star on. It wasn't too poky and didn't smell too much like a pine tree (I don't like pine tree smell) so I was pretty happy with it.
Until the spiders started moving in.
It started with just one. It was in the corner of our dining room, and very, very big and very, very black. Our ceiling is white and doesn't have any blemishes, so I can spot spiders on it pretty easily. I yelled to Cody to come kill it, but he said he couldn't reach it and it was watching him!!! (That's how big it was. You could see the reflection in it's eyes. ok...so maybe not THAT big...but it was big!) We took some treats to a family he home teaches and he said he'd get it when we got back. When we got back about 10 minutes later it wasn't in the corner!!! I started freaking out but I found it in the middle of the ceiling in the living room. I was so scared but I didn't want to lose it again, so I sat down on a chair in the dining room and just stared at it. I was imagining it flying towards my face, growing bigger and bigger until it latched on.. Oh, yuck. I probably have those images in my mind from Arachnophobia...I know that's a lame movie, but it still scares the crap out of me! Eventually it went into the living room ceiling lamp and Cody made me wash the dishes so I couldn't stare at it anymore. After about 20 minutes it came back out and Cody killed it. I made him flush it down the toilet. I know some people don't like to kill them and put them back outside, but if a spider is in my house it deserves to die. If I went into a spider's house I think they'd think the same thing about me.
Fast forward a couple weeks and about 8 spiders later. They WON'T GO AWAY!!! Last night I was half laying on the couch reading the Ensign while Cody was at work when something on then pillow I was leaning on began to move. Yep, another spider. None of them have been as big as the first, but they've all been just as awful. Since I was home by myself I picked up the whole pillow and had to rotate it so the spider wouldn't fall off until I got to the toilet and watched it go down. Stupid spiders ruined the spirit of Ensign reading.
I know a lot of people say they're scared of spiders and most people are like-Yeah, I don't like them either...But I'm not really one of those people. I am ABSOLUTELY terrified of spiders. Not only am I terrified, but I loathe them. I really do. Cody has to remind me that they keep the bug population under control because I usually say something about not being able to wait until I can decide that spiders don't exist anymore.
I was going to put a picture of a spider on here, but...It's my post, and I hate them...So I'm not going to.
Anyone else hate them??

Enough
I just watched a very interesting and tense movie called Enough starring J Lo.
It's all about how she finds out her very rich and powerful husbands is having an affair and then he starts beating her and then she runs away and he trys to find her to kill her. Yeah, tense, I know! Anyway...Noah Wyle
(The very popular actor from E.R.) was in it and I was so excited because when I started watching I was like, this movie is going to be so fun! A love story between Noah and J Lo and they'll fall in love and be happy....NOPE. He turns out to be an accomplice to the bad husband man. Lame. And I always thought he was so nice...
Cody's birthday is coming up!!!!! I am so so so excited. I think more excited than he is. But I just thought I'd post his birthday list (he has so sneakily placed it on the printer so I'd remember to post it on here for all curious blog stalkers).
Please remember that Cody is not expecting anything from anyone, but the list is just for if you were thinking, "Cody's birthday is soon and I think he is so wonderful and I'd love to get him a gift! I wonder what he'd like..." Also remember that if you do think that but think that everything on his list might be a little pricy...he is happy with anything :)
-Jeans
-A snowboard
-Zip-Up Hoodie (April bought him TWO track jackets and a super cute sweater AND a super cute button up shirt for Christmas. HE LOVES them! And so do I!!! Thanks April!)
-Fishing Vest
-Fly-Fishing Pole
-Waders
(He wants to start fly fishing...can ya tell?)
-Games for the xbox
-Exhaust Tips ...I dont' know what that means, but he said he really wants some.
-Dress shirts
-Car Stereo
So there it is. Much shorter than my christmas list!
Our Christmas was SUPER awesome. We had a great time and got a lot of super fun presents! Cody's parents bought us an xbox360 and Cody was SOOOOO excited. First he opened the present from Brittany and Seth, which was xbox games, so he was a little tipped off... When he got to open the big red bag and untaped it he looked inside, then he just looked at me, mouth wide open! My parents also sent us money which we put towards one of Cody's birthday presents...a big screen tv! I'll have to put pictures up of our new toys. My mom sewed me a SUPER cute apron that's blue and brown with pretty flowers, and Noah bought me gloves and a super cute hat from The Gap, which is my favorite store! I think Noah and April were scared I would take it back since I got gloves and a super cute hat for my birthday, but my gloves are already starting to fall apart and I love the ones Noah got me, so now I just have 2 pairs!!
Our New Year's was also great! Amy came up to visit and we almost forgot to take pictures! Luckily I got in 2 before our memory card filled up. I'll post some on here whenever she sends me some that she took. New Year's Eve we spent at our friends house from the ward, the Marshalls. We played games and ate chocolate and cheese fondue (YUM!) and then about 2 minutes before midnight Cody suggested we do handstands into the new year! I think we found a new family tradition!! Cody did it the best. He was up for so long! Amy did really good, too. She fell over pretty fast, but she at least was upside down when the clock hit 12. I didn't do so well...I couldn't do a handstand so I tried doing a handstand, and I still couldn't do it! So I only did a little "pod" into the New Year.

You know...with the knees on the elbows and everything. Kinda embarrassing. Oh well. I can't wait until we have a big family and everyone gets to do handstands together at midnight!! (Look for footage of that in 13-15 years :)
Happy 2008!!
